The Three Different Geese

As they have been all through the colder months, the canada, greylag and pink footed goose trio have been more or less inseparable, although the canada is a slightly later addition to the gang.

At the lake the other day, the greylag was being very dominant, honking away, inflating his throat and spreading his wings about. The pink foot is now so tame it looked like it was going to approach me for food.

Also seen - a female mallard with two ardent suitors, and a moorhen  sitting on a nest.

Lovely stuff.

  1. Nice to have a picture to compare the three geese. I'm not at all surprised to hear that the Greylag is boss.

  2. He's a big old goose, and a very assertive one
