Same Plant, Different Butterfly

Another lunchtime walk, the same buddleia and today I was able to get some ok shots of a peacock this time, the species that was resolute in not opening its wings yesterday.

The sultriness is just insane, we keep expecting the weather to break but it doesn't. I have put some washing out to dry.

If this does not bring about rain then nothing will. Like my attempts to watch Perseid meteors this week have brought the clouds rolling in like a dirty celestial duvet.

  1. That's a really stunning buddleia. We are pleased the butterflies co-operated, but we most liked your description of a dirty celestial duvet. What is the butterfly at the bottom? Butterflies like that used to form a little social group in a particular corner of our 'common', hovering over a corner in the warmed up path, and we would walk through them on our way to the allotment.
