Two for the Price of One

After an utterly filthy rainy start, the weather did actually improve a little today, to the extent that we actually had dry spells and even a few patches of blue sky now and then, although showers were still happening.

It was also markedly milder today, after the grim cold of the last few days.

However the insects were still not very lively, and these two buff tailed bumbles thus made a great photographic subject, as did the garden chafers which have suddenly appeared in numbers over the dog roses.
