Wood pigeons were feeding happily away on the rich crop of berries on my holly tree. I do sometimes get redwings and fieldfare visiting, but only if the weather is cold and snowy enough to drive the birds into town.
I realised there was a cat watching them from the Polish garden long before they did! And as soon as they did, then FLAP! - they were gone.
I do hope I get some decent avian visitors before the pigeons scoff all the berries.

See the cat off, it doesn't belong there, ha ha ha.
ReplyDeleteWood pigeons and blackbirds scoffing all the berries here too :( There are rarely any left when cold snowy weather drives the more interesting species into the garden. Female Sparrowhawk managed to kill one of the Wood Pigeons recently and returned on several days to feed on the bird.
ReplyDeleteThe first photo looks Christmassy, the second one looks Halloweeny.
ReplyDeleteSorry for my misusing the English language! :)
Ha ha that's fine = pictures taken with mobile through a window, so quality not great sadly! Thanks for visiting!
ReplyDeleteI was, of course, referring to the subject of the photos.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are technically very interesting and artistic.
Lucky you to have those beautiful berries - enjoy them while you can.
ReplyDeleteAwww, the birds in our old garden back down in Milton Keynes used to love the red currant bush my Mum planted and they would disappear overnight! Lovely to see the birds feeding and looking well. - Tasha
ReplyDeleteThank you Natasha! Hopefully I'll get to see some nice birds in there before the pigeons scoff all the berries
