Lunar Test Shot

Was rather excited to try and take a shot of the moon this evening with the new camera, so after I came back from my run, and before sunset, I wandered out to try and get a shot at 36x.

Here's the result.


It's not amazing, but you can see craters clearly near the terminator - the prominent one at centre left is Copernicus, sailing in the Ocean of Storms.

However, as soon as night proper fell, this happened.


Problems with over exposure and focus. Night shots probably need some serious tinkering on manual settings.

  3. I think it'll help to use the focus on 'spot', I'm sure I read it somewhere in a camera manual.
