The Cotham walk I had planned seemed a bit ambitious for what was a very windy day today, plus the fact that I don't want to inflame my hip before cricket practice tomorrow.
Also I was wearing the infamous Lidl blister trailshoes, and I didn't want to end up with huge gouges in my achilles. So I set off wearing two pairs of socks and it turned out fine.
Farndon seems to be a bit behind the parks in Newark itself; the snowdrops and aconite are still in really good condition here, and there's some nice golden crocuses too. I had a visit to the bike shop, wishing I was richer, and made my way home along the less muddy parts of the river.
Radio 6 was playing the Boomtown Rats new single - avoid - before I listened to a decent, almost hip-hoppy play on Radio 4 before I made my way to Rumbles on the park for a cup of tea to watch the sun pierce holes in the cloud.
