Signs and Signifiers

The signs are in the Prince Rupert, old, metallic and hopefully to the owners who probably scan every episode of Antiques Roadshow and Flog It, valuable.

The signifiers are the signs. They signify a more innocent age, where it was cool and ok to hunt foxes, where cigarettes did you no harm, and having a drink actually made you drive a car better.

Civil War Parade

Well, today has been busy from beginning to end, and I've seen so much it's going to take a few posts to get it all in. I've been to the park, running, into town, off playing cricket, around the lakes, probably everywhere in town!

I'm very hot, and very tired.

The least energetic thing I've done all day is probably watch a small but drummingly loud Civil War procession come ambling in town, with a very dandy indeed Prince Rupert type figure at the end of the train.

Heritage is something our town is good at.
