My Hands are Reeking

It was a bright afternoon after a pleasant morning, and despite a cool breeze it was still a pretty decent day, with plenty of things to see, from a mining bee having a quick rest  on the road, to the first appearance of ramson flowers and bluebells in the damp ditch in the cemetery.

The large, lush leaves of the ramsons are an irresistible target for fidgety fingers such as mine and of course I was soon crushing the leaves between my fingers and enjoying the pungent garlic smell these plants are of course known for.

Trouble with this of course is that I then ended up with garlicky fingers for the rest of the afternoon.

Luckily I didn't have a date or anything.

  2. Great photos. So much to see nature-wise at this time of year. (I'm ecstatic after last night seeing a pair of hedehogs in our garden rather than just the one which we've had sine last year!).

  3. It's suddenly looking very colourful out there! I managed to fall into a patch of ramsons once.

  5. Lovely set of photos - I always look forward to seeing (and smelling!) Wild Garlic in flower. Can be a wonderful sight en masse especially when mixed with Bluebells :)

  6. I love wild garlic. It grows in the garden. I add it chopped to salads...delicious.

    Love the bee.
